How do I calculate angle of view?
Angle = 2 × arctan(sensor dimension ÷ (2 × focal length)). Use the sensor width for the horizontal angle, height for vertical and the diagonal for the diagonal angle. A 24 mm lens on full frame sees 73.7° horizontally.
What is the field of view of an iPhone camera?
The main camera (24 mm equivalent) sees about 74° horizontally, the ultra-wide (13 mm equivalent) about 108°, and the 5× telephoto (120 mm equivalent) about 17°.
How wide is the frame at a distance?
Width = 2 × distance × tan(horizontal angle ÷ 2). A 24 mm full-frame lens covers about 7.5 m wide at 5 m.
What is the angle of view of a 35 mm lens on APS-C?
