LUT Generator
Build a .cube LUT from the same controls White Balancer uses — temperature, tint, brightness, contrast, saturation — or start from one of its 13 presets, preview it on a photo, and download it for CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve. Everything is generated in your browser.

Grey ramp, original
Grey ramp through the LUT — shows the tint the LUT adds to neutrals
Start from a White Balancer preset
Works in CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Lightroom (as a profile via Adobe tools), VN and any app that loads .cube files. Generated on your device.
How to make and use the LUT
- Set the look. Pick a White Balancer preset or move the temperature, tint, brightness, contrast and saturation sliders. The preview updates as you go; hold “compare” to see the original.
- Download the .cube file. Choose 17, 33 or 65 points (33 is the standard) and download. The file is generated in your browser.
- Load it in your editor. CapCut: Adjust › LUT › Import. Premiere Pro: Lumetri Color › Creative › Look › Browse. Final Cut Pro: Custom LUT effect › Choose Custom LUT. DaVinci Resolve: Project Settings › Color Management › Open LUT Folder, copy the file, then apply from the LUTs panel.
What the sliders do
| Control | Effect | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Temperature | Shifts the whole image blue ↔ amber; higher values warm it (the Lightroom convention) | Cancel a blue shade cast (raise) or a yellow bulb cast (lower) |
| Tint | Green ↔ magenta | Fluorescent and LED casts |
| Brightness | Adds or removes light evenly | Lift a slightly dark clip |
| Contrast | Stretches or compresses tones around mid-grey | Restore punch to flat phone footage |
| Saturation | Color intensity | A little more for landscapes; never for skin |
The 13 presets as LUTs
Every preset in White Balancer is a temperature/tint/brightness/contrast/saturation recipe, so each can be exported as a LUT for desktop editing. Sunset Glow is 7,000K with +20 tint and a touch more contrast and saturation; Blue Sky is 5,200K with −4 tint. See white balance presets explained for what each does and the Kelvin chart for what the numbers mean.
Questions people ask
What is a LUT?
A LUT (look-up table) is a file that maps every input color to an output color. A .cube 3D LUT lists the output for a grid of red, green and blue values — 33 × 33 × 33 points is typical — and the editor interpolates between them. It is the standard way to move a color grade between apps.
Can a LUT fix white balance?
For a whole clip shot under one light, yes: a temperature/tint LUT applies the same correction to every frame. It cannot adapt from shot to shot, so make one LUT per lighting situation, or fix the clip by sampling a neutral point in an editor that supports it.
Does this LUT generator work with CapCut?
Yes. CapCut imports .cube files: select the clip, open Adjust, choose LUT, tap Import and pick the downloaded file. The same file works in VN, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Photoshop.
Which LUT size should I choose?
33 × 33 × 33 is the standard and is accurate for color-temperature and grading adjustments like these. 17 is fine for quick looks and loads faster on phones; 65 only matters for LUTs with sharp, non-linear curves.
Is the LUT applied in log or Rec.709?
These LUTs are built in display sRGB/Rec.709, for footage that already looks normal (phone video, standard profiles). Do not apply them directly to log footage — convert the log clip to Rec.709 first, then add the LUT.
How do I make a LUT for CapCut, Premiere or DaVinci Resolve for free?
Set temperature, tint, brightness, contrast and saturation at https://whitebalancer.com/tools/lut-generator (or start from a preset), preview it on a photo, and download a .cube file. In CapCut: Adjust › LUT › Import; Premiere: Lumetri › Creative › Look › Browse; Resolve: copy it to the LUT folder.
Can I turn a white balance adjustment into a LUT?
Yes. A temperature/tint correction is a fixed per-channel gain, which is exactly what a 3D LUT can store. https://whitebalancer.com/tools/lut-generator builds one for any temperature from 2,000K to 12,000K plus tint, so a whole clip shot under one light can be corrected in any editor.
What is a .cube file and how do I create one?
A .cube file is a text 3D look-up table listing the output color for a grid of input colors (33 × 33 × 33 is standard); editors interpolate between points. You can generate one from sliders at https://whitebalancer.com/tools/lut-generator without any software.
