Privacy Policy for White Balancer

1. Your Photos Stay on Your Device

All photo and video editing in the White Balancer app ("the App") is performed locally on your device. We never upload, transmit, or store your photos, videos, or their metadata. Your images never leave your device through the App.

The App requests access to your photo library so you can choose an image to edit and save the result. That access is used only for those purposes.

2. Information We Collect

The App works without an account. The limited information below is collected to provide the ad-free purchase, to keep it working across your devices, and to understand how the App is used.

• A random identifier. When you first open the App, a random identifier is generated and stored on your device. It is not derived from your name, email address, phone number, or any hardware identifier. It lets us recognise your installation and associate your purchase and usage data with it.
• Name and email address, only if you choose to sign in. Signing in with Apple is optional. If you do, Apple shares your name and email address (or a private relay address if you choose to hide your email) with us. We use them solely to link your purchase to your account so it can be restored on another device. We do not use them for marketing and we do not share them with advertisers or analytics providers.
• Purchase information. If you buy "Ad Free", we record the product purchased, its price, and the Apple transaction identifier so the purchase can be verified and restored, and so we can measure how the App performs. We do not receive or store your payment details — payment is handled entirely by Apple.
• Notifications from Apple. Apple sends us server notifications about purchase events such as refunds, so we can keep your entitlement accurate.

We do not collect your phone number, contacts, precise location, messages, or any other personal information.

3. Advertising

The free version of the App displays advertising served by Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, Google may collect device-level information such as a device identifier, general device and operating system details, approximate location inferred from your IP address, ad interaction data, and diagnostic information about the advertising software. This processing is carried out by Google, not by us, and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

The App does not present Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not request permission to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. We do not use the advertising identifier.

Purchasing "Ad Free" permanently removes all advertising from the App, and with it the ad-related data collection described above.

4. Analytics

The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how it is used so we can fix bugs, improve features, and see whether our purchase offers are working. The information collected includes:

• How you use the App — for example the App being opened, a photo or video being saved or shared, which editing tools and presets were used, and whether a purchase screen was shown, closed, or led to a purchase.
• Purchase events — the product bought, its price and currency, and the Apple transaction identifier, together with whether your installation is ad-free.
• General device information — device model, operating system version, App version, language, and approximate country inferred from your IP address.
• An identifier — the random identifier described above (or your account identifier if you signed in), so that the events from one installation can be counted together.

These events describe actions, not content — no photos, videos, names, or email addresses are included, and we do not use analytics data for advertising or share it with advertisers.

Analytics data is processed by Google on our behalf and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. You can ask us to delete the analytics data associated with your installation by contacting us (see Section 9).

5. Our Website

Our website, whitebalancer.com, is separate from the App. It uses Google Analytics with IP anonymisation to measure general site traffic and which links visitors use. This does not collect any data from your device or from the App.

6. Third-Party Services

The App integrates Google AdMob (advertising), Google Firebase Analytics (usage analytics), and Apple's StoreKit and Sign in with Apple (purchases and optional sign-in). Each is subject to its provider's own privacy policy. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with any other third party.

7. Data Retention and Security

Account and purchase records are retained for as long as needed to honour your ad-free entitlement and to meet legal, accounting, and chargeback obligations. Analytics data is retained for a limited period in aggregate form. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on access-controlled servers.

Because we hold no photos and only minimal personal data, the impact of any security incident is inherently limited.

8. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the information associated with you, and to object to certain processing.

You can delete your account and purchase record yourself at any time with "Delete All Data" in the App's Settings. This removes the data we hold about your installation and generates a new random identifier. Deleting your purchase record may prevent your ad-free entitlement from being restored on another device; it can still be restored through Apple on this device.

For any other request, email [email protected]. Because we identify you only by a random identifier unless you signed in, please contact us from the device in question so we can locate the correct record.

10. Legal Compliance

We comply with applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR and the CCPA where they apply. We do not sell personal information as those laws define the term.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date above. If we introduce features that materially change how data is handled, we will notify users and, where required, ask for consent before the new processing begins.

12. Third-Party Links

The App and our website may contain links to external sites, including those reached by tapping an advertisement. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those sites.
